What I learned from MrBeast about embracing failure

Howdy Reader!

I just finished watching The Diary of a CEO podcast with MrBeast, and holy moly, did it get my creative wheels turning!

You know MrBeast, right? He's literally the biggest YouTuber on the planet, pulling in millions of views per video, running a burger empire, selling chocolate bars, and giving away more money than most of us will see in our lifetime through his philanthropy work.

But here's the thing that really hit me between the eyes - his attitude toward experimentation and failure.

Get this: When his team messes up (even million-dollar mistakes), his response? "That's ok, this isn't the first time you're going to cost me a million dollars."

Now, I know what you're thinking - "Jeff, that's great for someone with MrBeast money, but what about us regular folks?"

Here's the rub: We might not have his resources, but we can absolutely steal his mindset.

You want to know what I think holds most creators back? It's not talent. It's not even resources.

It's our fear of failure.

The more successful we get, the more terrified we become of losing what we've built. We get comfortable. Safe. Predictable.

Remember when we first started creating? The wild experiments, the crazy ideas? (I literally dressed up as a zombie for videos - what happened to THAT Jeff?)

Well, I'm done playing it safe.

Here's my experiment: I'm diving head-first into Instagram. For someone who's been a casual "scroll and occasionally post" kind of guy, this is WAY outside my comfort zone.

My challenge: Posting AI-generated images and videos six days a week this month. Why? Because I'm speaking about AI image generation at Social Media Marketing World, and I figured - what better way to practice what I preach?

Will it grow my account? Maybe.

Will I learn something new? Definitely.

Will it be fun? Already is!

Here's what I'm learning: Saying something was a "failed experiment" feels SO much better than just saying you failed. It's like wearing a lab coat instead of a dunce cap. 😉

So here's my question for you: What experiment are you dying to try but haven't had the courage to start? Hit reply and let me know - I really want to hear what creative ideas you're sitting on!

See ya around the interwebs,

-Jeff

P.S. Speaking of experiments, if you're curious about my AI image generation journey, follow along on Instagram. I promise it'll be entertaining if nothing else!

Howdy Reader! Ever feel like you're doing ALL the productivity hacks but still spinning your wheels? You're not alone. I've been thinking a lot about productivity lately as I prepare to speak at Social Media Marketing World in San Diego this week. And let me tell you, nothing tests your productivity systems quite like getting ready for a conference! Speaking of testing things... I recently discovered something cool at the Newsletter Marketing Summit in Austin that I HAD to share with you....

Howdy Reader! Ever wish you could clone yourself just to get everything done? (Without the whole evil twin subplot, of course!) I get it. As creators, we're constantly juggling multiple tasks, wearing ALL the hats, and somehow trying to maintain our sanity in the process. That's exactly why I'm excited about this week's show. We're digging into the world of automation and systems with someone who's mastered the art of doing more by doing less. Meet Joe Casabona, the wizard behind the curtain...

Howdy Reader! Listen, I try not to get too excited about every new AI tool that comes along (there are about 47 launched every day, am I right? 😅) But this one? This one's different. Google just quietly dropped what might be the biggest AI image creation breakthrough of the year - and the best part? It's completely FREE. I know what you're thinking... "Jeff, we've already got DALL-E and Midjourney. What's the big deal?" Here's the thing - this isn't just another image generator. This is...
