Howdy Reader! Selling stinks. When I worked for other people, I had no problem selling our services. I love recommending great products and services from brands and influencers that I know, like, and trust. So why is it so hard to actually sell our OWN products and services? Listen, I’ve heard all the sales tropes like, “you sell the sizzle, not the steak.” Or, “go after the low-hanging fruit.” And even “this is a win-win situation for both of us!” Now, if I had a tree with low-hanging sizzling steaks, THAT would be a win-win. I’d never leave the yard! Seriously though, selling is hard and not something that comes naturally to a lot of people. That’s why I’m really excited to shine the spotlight on selling on today’s show. I was blown away when I saw Conor Brown speak on the art of selling at Momentum this past year. (Don’t tell him that; I’d never hear the end of it.) He helped everyone who listened become more confident in selling their products and services, and I know he can help you, too. So join us today at 10 am central and ask your questions on selling that you’ve always been afraid to ask. See ya there, -Jeff Are you looking for powerful features without sticker shock? Howdy Reader! Kirk Nugent tried to buy kirknugent.com and couldn't. Another Kirk Nugent, a poet and speaker, already owned it. So Kirk added his middle initial, took a nickname nobody else has, the Geek Speaker Preacher, and started deciding for himself what shows up when people search for him. Most of us have never looked. Kirk does this for a living, and it still happened to him. Today we're sitting down with Kirk, an online video coach and former IT executive whose career ran from NASA to...
Howdy Reader! I have a confession. When Lou Mongello came on Creator News Live this month, I asked our audience whether they'd ever met somebody whose work shaped them, and Lou accused ME of fishing for compliments (bless his heart...), live, in front of everybody. Then we tried to remember how we met, and our stories don't match. One involves a golden throne. The other involves Lou as Snow White, and I've been trying to get that picture out of my head ever since. Gustave Flaubert warned...
Howdy Reader! There is a profile on the internet with your name on it that you've not edited in about three years. Other people are looking at it. Two things changed on LinkedIn this year. The feed stopped running on your own network, and only about a third of what people see now comes from their own connections, so your posts land in front of strangers. At the same time, AI assistants started reading LinkedIn to answer questions like "who should I hire for this?" So now we know both new...
