Why Selling Your Own Stuff is SO Hard (And How to Fix It)

Howdy Reader!

Selling stinks.

When I worked for other people, I had no problem selling our services.

I love recommending great products and services from brands and influencers that I know, like, and trust.

So why is it so hard to actually sell our OWN products and services?

Listen, I’ve heard all the sales tropes like, “you sell the sizzle, not the steak.” Or, “go after the low-hanging fruit.” And even “this is a win-win situation for both of us!”

Now, if I had a tree with low-hanging sizzling steaks, THAT would be a win-win. I’d never leave the yard!

Seriously though, selling is hard and not something that comes naturally to a lot of people. That’s why I’m really excited to shine the spotlight on selling on today’s show.

I was blown away when I saw Conor Brown speak on the art of selling at Momentum this past year. (Don’t tell him that; I’d never hear the end of it.)

He helped everyone who listened become more confident in selling their products and services, and I know he can help you, too.

So join us today at 10 am central and ask your questions on selling that you’ve always been afraid to ask.

See ya there,

-Jeff

Howdy Reader! Two of our friends lost their Facebook accounts this month. Another got dropped into a 14-day comment jail on their own pages. This Friday, we're sitting back down with Paul Gowder, founder of PowWows.com and the person behind one of the largest niche communities on Facebook. Paul has been running an...

Howdy Reader! Right now, I'm looking out my window, and I'm seeing a ton of squirrels chasing each other around the yard. I've glanced out my window and seen tons of squirrels before, but I really never noticed them until this article I read by the researchers at the University of Exeter. They set up a little experiment. Eleven squirrels, one pole, two snacks. Climb a little ways up the pole, you get pumpkin seeds. Climb higher, you get almonds. Over four thousand decision tests, the...

Howdy Reader! I want you to try something this weekend. Open up whatever AI tool you've been paying for, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, doesn't matter, and look at your last ten conversations with it. I'd bet most of them are questions. Ask, answer, copy, close. We're using one of the most powerful tools we've ever had on our desks, like it's just a smarter Google. Today, we're sitting down with Mike Allton, host of The AI Hat Podcast, co-author of The Ultimate Guide to Social Media...
