Why Selling Your Own Stuff is SO Hard (And How to Fix It)

Howdy Reader!

Selling stinks.

When I worked for other people, I had no problem selling our services.

I love recommending great products and services from brands and influencers that I know, like, and trust.

So why is it so hard to actually sell our OWN products and services?

Listen, I’ve heard all the sales tropes like, “you sell the sizzle, not the steak.” Or, “go after the low-hanging fruit.” And even “this is a win-win situation for both of us!”

Now, if I had a tree with low-hanging sizzling steaks, THAT would be a win-win. I’d never leave the yard!

Seriously though, selling is hard and not something that comes naturally to a lot of people. That’s why I’m really excited to shine the spotlight on selling on today’s show.

I was blown away when I saw Conor Brown speak on the art of selling at Momentum this past year. (Don’t tell him that; I’d never hear the end of it.)

He helped everyone who listened become more confident in selling their products and services, and I know he can help you, too.

So join us today at 10 am central and ask your questions on selling that you’ve always been afraid to ask.

See ya there,

-Jeff

Howdy Reader! I want you to try something this weekend. Open up whatever AI tool you've been paying for, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, doesn't matter, and look at your last ten conversations with it. I'd bet most of them are questions. You're one of the people I actually get excited about telling the good stuff to. This is the brand new opening for The Maker's Table, the weekly live show I co-host with Katie Fawkes. Stop-motion plasticine, a cozy cabin, two makers at one table. Forty seconds total. Here's the thing I've been chewing on all week... Three years...

Howdy Reader! Quick question for y'all... When you scroll your feed lately, can you tell what's real and what's AI? Half the content in your feed right now is AI-generated. AI voices, AI avatars, AI scripts, AI thumbnails. And the audience is starting to notice. Here's the wild thing. In a world flooded with synthetic everything, the single biggest competitive advantage you have as a creator in 2026 is also the simplest one. Being a real human, on camera, showing up as yourself. That's the...
