Press play: my holiday mixtape…

Howdy Reader!

This is one of my favorite times of the year. Not just because of all the wonderful food (looking at you, pecan pie) but also because of the Christmas music.

How early do you start listening? As soon as I push back from the Thanksgiving table, right before I settle my brain for a long winter's nap, I hit play on my favorite curated playlists.

BUT, Christmas traditions can generate a lot of controversy…

For me, the question of whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie is a non-starter (either way doesn’t bother me). My main issue is that “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music is NOT a Christmas song.

Just a line of “brown paper packages tied up with string” doesn’t make it a Christmas song, for Pete’s sake. I'll fight you on this one...

Anyway, I digress.

I DO love me some Christmas songs, though. And here is my go-to Christmas playlist that I’ve curated over the years. It’s eclectic, but I look forward to listening to it every year.

My Main Christmas Playlist

Here’s another one I go to quite a bit. I love Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Christmastime, and here’s a playlist of songs from around Echo Lake if you want to get into that old-time Hollywood feeling of Christmas.

Disney’s Old Hollywood Christmas Vibes

So let me know, what’s your go-to holiday playlist?

Something about Christmas music helps me crank on some creative ideas. I don’t know if it’s hunkering down in the cold, the cup of hot coffee, or the nostalgic sounds, but it really gets those creative juices flowing.

What about you? Is it a creative season for you? Or is it a time to zone out, curl up with a book, and recharge for the first of the year? Either way is perfectly fine. I’d just love to know! Hit reply and tell me your soundtrack or your favorite “cozy + recharge” ritual.

See ya around the interwebs,

-Jeff
