You wrote off LinkedIn. It changed.

Howdy Reader!

There is a profile on the internet with your name on it that you've not edited in about three years. Other people are looking at it.

Two things changed on LinkedIn this year. The feed stopped running on your own network, and only about a third of what people see now comes from their own connections, so your posts land in front of strangers. At the same time, AI assistants started reading LinkedIn to answer questions like "who should I hire for this?"

So now we know both new visitors and AI bots are looking at our LinkedIn profiles, which can definitely give off some Skynet-type "stranger danger" vibes...

Today we're sitting down with Lowell Brown of Going Social, who has spent more than 25 years helping creators, coaches, and small businesses get found online. Everyone tells you to post more. He says fix the page first, because that is the one people read when they're deciding whether to contact you.

What caught my attention is that this stopped being a follower-count game. Semrush went through 89,000 LinkedIn pages that AI tools had cited and found the cited posts averaged around 15 to 25 reactions. Accounts under 500 followers turn up in there over and over.

We're exploring:

→ Why the profile comes before the posting, and what to fix first
→ The headline fix that turns a list of job titles into a reason to reach out
→ What LinkedIn newsletters are worth when you cannot export the subscribers
→ Why the accounts getting quoted by AI are not the big ones

Come watch live and put your questions in the chat.

Howdy Reader! Mike Allton is one of my BBFs (which stands for Before Beard Friend). I've known him since the Google Plus days, which, in internet years, was right after AOL stopped sending you floppy discs. So when he asked me to join his new podcast, The AI Social Playbook, I said yes before he finished the sentence. He had me walk through the animated open for The Makers Table, my Friday craft show with Katie Fawkes. Claymation-style, twelve scenes, two characters who still look like the...

Howdy Reader! Eighteen Disney Legends. Twenty years of conversations. And almost none of them used the word magic. They said curious. They said story. They said detail. They said we tried it, it did not work, and we tried something else. Today, we're sitting down with Lou Mongello, host and creator of WDW Radio and a Podcast Hall of Fame inductee, who has been sitting across the table from the people who actually built Disney since 2005. Imagineers, composers, animators, and the executives...

Howdy Reader! There is a thing your setup needs that nobody has made yet. You have thought about it. You probably even know roughly what it would cost. Doc Rock went and made his. This Friday we're sitting down with Doc Rock, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Ecamm and co-host of The Flow. He spent years traveling around teaching podcasting, and everywhere he went, people asked him about pop filters for their microphones. The only decent one shipped from the Netherlands, thirty dollars...
